Self Defence FAQ

Krav Maga & Self Defence Questions

What is Krav Maga?

Krav Maga is the official self defence system of the Israeli Defence Force. It's a practical, no-nonsense approach to self defence designed for real-world situations. Unlike martial arts, it's not a sport - it's a survival system.

Do I need to be fit to start?

No. We cater to all fitness levels. You'll build fitness as you train. The training is scalable to your current abilities.

Is it suitable for women?

Absolutely. Krav Maga was designed for everyone, regardless of size or strength. The techniques rely on leverage, timing, and targeting vulnerable areas rather than brute strength.

Will I get hurt in training?

Our objective is for all trainees to participate without getting hurt. We place a premium on safety in training. Proper technique is always emphasized, and training intensity is scaled appropriately.

How long until I can defend myself?

You'll learn practical skills from your very first session. Krav Maga is designed for rapid skill acquisition. Within a few months of consistent training, you'll have a solid foundation of defensive skills.

What's the difference between Krav Maga and martial arts?

Traditional martial arts often focus on sport, competition, and forms. Krav Maga focuses purely on practical self defence - what works in real situations. There are no competitions, no forms, just practical skills.
